The Ascender is Isuzu’s midsize SUV that shares its platform with the Chevrolet TrailBlazer and the
GMC Envoy. The Ascender originally replaced the Trooper for 2003 and is the largest and most
powerful SUV from Isuzu. The short-wheelbase 5-passenger version was added for 2004.

The Isuzu i-370 and i-290 crew cab pickups are Isuzu’s entries in the midsize pickup market, which
debuted for 2006 as the i-280 and i-350 and were developed with General Motors as a continuation of
the partnership that began with the first vehicle built by Isuzu to be sold in the U.S., the Chevrolet Light
Utility Vehicle, known as the Chevy LUV truck. The Isuzu pickups are based on the Chevrolet Colorado
and the GMC Canyon which were introduced in the fall of 2003 and are produced in the same plant in
Shreveport, LA. Put the i-290 Extended Cab pickup on the job and you've
got more than a dependable midsize truck - you've got a 4x2 truck that'll stretch itself to the limit,
making sure every job gets done - and done just right. With seating for up to five and a 72.8-inch bed,
the i-290 is perfectly at home pulling hefty payloads up to 1,500 pounds, while employing a heavy-duty
suspension to smooth out bumps along the way.
New for 2007
The 2007 Isuzu i-370 replaces the i-350 and the 2007 Isuzu i-290 replaces the i-280 for the 2007
model year. Powered by a new 242-horsepower 3.7-liter version of GM’s inline five-cylinder engine,
the i-370 is offered in both Extended Cab (2WD) and Crew Cab (2WD or 4WD) versions. The Isuzu i-
290 is powered by a new 2.9-liter engine that produces 185 horsepower and 190 lb-ft of torque. Tire-
pressure monitoring is standard for 2007.
