The IS sedan is Lexus’ entry sport sedan that debuted an all-new second-generation design for 2006.
Lexus has adopted a two-sedan strategy with the new IS moving more towards sporty while the ES
350 is the entry luxury choice. The new IS has a more aggressive stance than the original and is the
second example of styling that Lexus refers to as L-Finesse. Two engine choices are offered with
either rear-wheel drive or all-wheel drive.
New for 2008
The 2008 Lexus IS continues with some minor updates including the IS 250 AWD receiving heated
front seats with standard leather trim, the standard 17-inch 10-spoke wheels has a new finish, the
power outside mirror control now comes with backlighting, white illumination for scuff plates and a
coin holder.

The ES 350 is Lexus’ midsize luxury sedan that replaced the third-generation ES 330 for the 2007
model year. Offering more comfort, safety and performance features, the ES 350 is part of a two-
pronged strategy from Lexus as the entry-luxury choice and the IS offered as a more performance-
oriented sport sedan. The fourth sedan to incorporate what Lexus calls the L-finesse design
language, the ES has a strong family resemblance to the GS, IS and all-new LS flagship sedan. The
previous generation ES 300 debuted for the 2002 model year and became the ES 330 for 2004.
New for 2008
After getting redesigned for 2007, the 2008 Lexus ES 350 continues unchanged but adds two
personal lamps as a convenience feature.

Redesigned for 2006, the GS 430 and GS 300 are performance-oriented sedans that also offer typical
Lexus luxury. Lexus says the look of the new GS reveals a more passionate direction in styling that
will be carried forward to future models. The GS 300 debuted in 1993 and the V8-powered GS 400
was added when the GS was redesigned for 1998. For 2001 the GS received design and safety
refinements and the GS 400 became GS 430 with the addition of the 4.3-liter V8.
New for 2007
The 2007 Lexus GS adds a shark fin-style antenna which supports satellite radio operation, a
VDIM/VSC cut-off function, rear-seat side airbags, and the one-touch open/close moonroof as
standard. The GS 350 receives a new 303-horsepower 3.5-liter V6 engine that produces 274 lb-ft of
torque, high-performance front brake pads and large front brakes from the GS 430, and an 18-inch
wheel option for the rear-wheel-drive model. The GS 430 adds an optional active stabilizer system to
help achieve a greater level of control during cornering. Available options include The new Generation
5 Lexus DVD Navigation System featuring Bluetooth® compatibility, voice activation and rear back-up
camera. Lexus Link® telematics system available. Five new exterior colors are added.
