The Mazda3 is Mazda’s compact sedan and 5-door hatchback that replaced the Protege for 2004. The
styling of the Mazda3 is based on the MX-Sportif concept car. The Mazda3's standard 2.0-liter, four-
cylinder engine is relatively quick and sparing with fuel; the 2.3-liter is strong and refined. Handling is
precise and sporty.

The 2008 Mazda Mazda3 continues essentially unchanged for the new model year.

The Mazda5 is a new type of vehicle with a blend of style and functionality that combines the
dimensions and ease of use of a compact, with available seating for six and the versatility of multiple
passenger and cargo configurations. The Mazda5 shares underbody architecture, suspension
design and components with the Mazda3 in a unique wedge-shaped body that features two sliding
doors and a low floor. Mazda promises that it will be fun to drive, like other Mazda products. Inside, the
Mazda5 features three rows of theater-style seating with slide and recline adjustments for the second
row and the second- and third-row seats fold to create a nearly flat cargo floor.
New for 2007
The Mazda5 was all-new for 2006 and the only changes for the 2007 Mazda Mazda5 are the addition
of a Grand Touring trim and two new exterior colors, Galaxy Gray and Dark Plum. The Grand Touring
includes heated leather-trimmed seats, Xenon HID headlights with manual level adjustment and
black headlight and taillight bezels.

The Mazda6 is Mazda’s sporty midsize sedan that replaced the 626 and the Millenia for 2003. The 626
first arrived in 1979 and in 1988 it became one of the first Japanese-brand cars to be built in the U.S.
The Millenia went on sale in the spring of 1994 after dropping plans for a separate luxury division.
New for 2007
The 2007 Mazda Mazda6 adds more safety equipment as standard including an Anti-lock Brake
System, Traction Control and side airbags with side curtains. A new Sport VE (Value Edition) is added
to the lineup. The Sport VE features 17-inch alloy wheels, sport grille, side sills, power driver’s seat, 6-
disc CD changer and leather-wrapped steering wheel, shift knob and parking brake handle.

The MX-5 Miata is Mazda’s two-seat, rear-wheel-drive convertible sports car. Completely redesigned
for 2006, the third-generation MX-5 Miata features bold fender flares, a large grille, standard 16-inch
alloy wheels and dual chrome exhaust pipes for a more aggressive look. For the first time, a power
retractable hardtop was added for 2007. The best-selling two-seat roadster in the world was first
introduced in the summer of 1989 and was redesigned for the 1999 model year.
New for 2008
The 2008 Mazda MX-5 Miata adds a driver’s seat height adjuster in the Touring and Grand Touring, an
in-dash 6-disc CD changer and a tire-pressure-monitoring system.

The 2007 Mazda MAZDASPEED3 is the flagship of the Mazda3 lineup and is based on the Mazda3 5-
door. One of the quickest front-wheel-drive vehicles in the U.S., the MAZDASPEED3 shares the same
engine as the MAZDASPEED6 and CX-7, with 0 to 60 mph time under 6 seconds and an electronically
limited top speed of 155 mph. The MAZDASPEED3 takes design elements from the MAZDASPEED6
featuring strong lines flowing back along the hood from the upper part of the five-point grille that is
used as the air intake for the intercooler.
New for 2008
The MAZDASPEED3 debuted for 2007 and the 2008 Mazda MAZDASPEED3 continues unchanged for
the new model year.

The Mazda6 Sport Wagon is Mazda’s sporty midsize wagon that joins the Mazda6 sedan and 5-door
for 2004. For 2003 the Mazda6 sedan replaced the 626 and the Millenia in the Mazda lineup. The 626

The MAZDASPEED6 is Mazda's all-new high-performance all-wheel-drive sedan, based on the
Mazda6 sedan. The MAZDASPEED6 comes in two trim levels: Sport and Grand Touring. With looks
very similar to the Mazda6, the MAZDASPEED6 has an all-new front and rear fascia, hood, front
fenders and taillights. The hood sticks out to accommodate the intercooler and a hood scoop has
been integrated to feed outside air into the engine. Extended side skirts, twin tailpipes, a lip spoiler
and lightweight 18-inch alloy wheels with high-performance tires help complete the aerodynamic look
to the body. The MAZDASPEED6 rides lower than a standard MAZDA6 and the double-wishbone front
and rear multi-link suspension setups have been tweaked to further enhance handling.

Mazda has not sold a rotary engine in the U.S. since the RX-7 was discontinued in 1995. This
changes with the introduction of the successor to the RX-7—the RX-8. There have been a number of
concept cars that have been shown over the last few years, including the RX-Evolv, RX-01 and
ultimately the RX-8 in concept form with debuted at the 2002 North American International Auto Show.
The first RX-8 was produced on February 17, 2003 at Mazda’s Ujina #1 Plant in Hiroshima, Japan,
with sales beginning in the spring.
New for 2007
The 2007 Mazda RX-8 receives minor updates including the Grand Touring now offers available Sand
leather-trimmed seats, while the Touring and Grand Touring add a standard 6-disc CD changer. Two
new exterior colors are also added.

The Tribute is Mazda’s compact SUV that is redesigned for the 2008 model year with the focus on a
bold, tough exterior look combined with a more upscale, comfortable interior. The Tribute joined the
Mazda lineup for 2001 and is offered with either front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive. The Tribute is built
on the same platform as the Ford Escape, but the Tribute is styled and tuned to look and perform like
a Mazda. The redesigned 2008 Tribute went on sale early in 2007 and there was no 2007 model year
Tribute.
New for 2008
The 2008 Mazda Tribute offers more traditional SUV styling than Mazda’s other SUVs new front and
rear fascias, hood, liftgate, power mirrors, 16-inch alloy wheels, headlights, taillights and standard
fog lights. Inside the Tribute, new color combinations, seating surfaces and ergonomic
enhancements improve the overall driver and passenger experience. The Tribute is available in three
trim levels, Sport, Touring and Grand Touring, powered by either a 153-horsepower 2.3-liter 4-cylinder
(i designation) or a 200-horsepower 3.0-liter V6 (s designation). Standard safety equipment for 2008
includes side-impact airbags and curtains, Dynamic Stability Control (DSC), Roll Stability Control,
Traction Control System and a tire-pressure monitoring system.

The CX-7 is Mazda’s five-seat crossover SUV that is designed and engineered specifically for the
North American market with a sporty appearance that promises dynamic performance. Mazda
describes the CX-7 as a vehicle that combines sports car verve with SUV practicality and that
description is backed up by a powerful turbocharged intercooled engine that is shared with the high-
performance MAZDASPEED6 sport sedan. The flat rear cargo area is approximately 70 inches with
the rear seats folded and 39 inches with the rear seat in use.
New for 2008
The CX-7 debuted for 2007 and the 2008 Mazda CX-7 continues essentially unchanged. New engine
programming and a new catalyst mean that premium fuel is recommended but no longer required.

The CX-9 is Mazda’s midsize 7-passenger crossover SUV that joined the lineup for 2007. Built on an
all-new architecture, the CX-9 shares the V6 engine with the Ford Edge. The CX-9 has an intentional
family resemblance to the CX-7, but it is not just a lengthened CX-7. The CX-9 offers easy access to
the third-row seat with only one hand operation for an extra 26 inches of space between the folded
second-row seat and the door opening. With discontinuation of the MPV minivan, the CX-9 becomes
the family vehicle in the Mazda lineup.
New for 2008
The 2008 Mazda CX-9 adds more power and is now powered by a 273-horsepower 3.7-liter DOHC V6
that produces 270 lb-ft of torque at 4250 rpm. A Blind Spot Monitoring System is added to the Grand
Touring.

The Mazda Truck is Mazda’s compact pickup that is offered in regular cab and Cab Plus version, in
rear-wheel drive or four-wheel drive. The Mazda Truck shares a platform with the Ford Ranger.

The 2007 Mazda Truck adds a standard tire-pressure-monitoring system and new exterior colors,
Pueblo Gold and Vista Blue to the lineup.
