The 3-Series is BMW's entry-level model in the near-luxury segment, offered in sedan, coupe,
convertible and wagon versions. A descendant of the mid-'60s BMW 1600, considered by many
automotive enthusiasts to be the first compact sedan to offer sports-car performance, the 3-Series
has continued to be the benchmark of sport sedans. The 3-Series designation first appeared in
America in 1977, and the car evolved from a rather boxy shape to a fluid, aerodynamic design and the
sedan and wagon now incorporate BMW’s new design language. The previous-generation 3-Series
sedan was introduced as a 1999 model. The 3-Series Sedan and 3-Series Sports Wagon are
redesigned and updated for the 2006 model year while the coupe and convertible carryover the 2005
styling for 2006. For 2007 a new line for the 3-Series joins the lineup available in three trims: 328i,
328xi and 335i. The first inline six-cylinder engine with twin-turbochargers, high precision fuel
injection and an all-aluminum crankcase is introduced to the 335i that produces 300 horsepower.
New for 2007
The 2007 BMW 3-Series Coupe joins the lineup highlighted by the 300-horsepower turbocharged
inline six-cylinder 335i, the 230-horsepower 328i and the all-wheel-drive 328xi. Standard is a six-
speed manual transmission and a six-speed STEPTRONIC automatic transmission is optional. The
335i is showcased by an aggressively sculpted hood, new kidney grille, standard Xenon adaptive
headlights with corona light rings, reverse L-shaped taillights, single round chrome dual exhaust
pipes and standard cornering lights. The interior is fitted with Dark Burl Walnut wood trim that
appears on the dash, front and rear consoles, doors and rear side panels. A new instrument cluster
includes an oil temperature gauge that’s positioned below the tachometer. Optional packages
include a Cold Weather Package, Premium Package and a Sport Package.

The 3-Series Sports Wagon is BMW’s near-luxury wagon that is redesigned for 2006, joining the
redesigned 3-Series Sedan alongside the carryover 3-Series Coupe and Convertible. BMW's 3-
Series model is a descendant of the BMW 1600 from the 1960s, considered by many automotive
enthusiasts to be the first compact sedan offering sports car performance. The 3-Series designation
first appeared in America in 1977, and the car evolved from a rather boxy shape to its present fluid,
aerodynamic design. The 2000 3-Series was introduced in 1999 and the 3-Series Sport Wagon
joined the 3-Series lineup in the U.S. for the first time in the spring of 2000. The name is changed to 3-
Series Sports Wagon for 2006 and is updated with an all-new look, upgraded engines and a new
chassis.
New for 2007
For 2007 the BMW 3-Series Sports Wagon introduces a new model with the 328i Sports Wagon
replacing the 325xi Sports Wagon. Under the hood is a new 3.0-liter inline 6-cylinder producing 230
horsepower and 200 lb-ft of torque, a 15 horsepower/lb-ft of torque improvement over its
predecessor. For the interior Galvanic silver trim matching the trim around the start/stop button has
been applied to the climate control knobs. Crimson Red replaces Electric Red and Montego Blue
metallic takes over for Mystic Blue metallic.

The 2008 BMW 5-Series lineup is updated with a new nomenclature, a refreshed look and a
redesigned interior. While the 525i and 525xi is replaced by the 528i and 528xi, they also receive a
new 230-horsepower engine. The 530i and 530xi is now the 535i and 535xi and is upgraded with a
300-horsepower twin-turbo inline-six engine. An updated STEPTRONIC allows for faster shifting and
better efficiency. Highlighted by a revised front fascia, the exterior also features new taillights and a
new rear air-diffuser. The interior is fitted with more storage space and ergonomic design. Other
additions include a Lane Departure Warning system and Active Cruise Control with “Stop & Go”
feature. A new Sport Package is available in the 550i that gives it 19-inch wheels and new body
treatments. New optional wheels and tires are available in the 528i Sport Package.

headlights and taillights, front fascia and relocated DOT lenses. The interior is fitted with more
storage space and ergonomic design. Other additions include a Lane Departure Warning system
and Active Cruise Control with “Stop & Go” feature. The optional Sport Package upgrade adds 18-inch
wheels and tires.

The 6-Series is BMW’s luxury coupe and convertible line. The luxury coupe is a traditional segment for
BMW and the 6-Series debuted in the late 1970s, running through the 1989 model year, with the 635
CSi becoming one of the most recognized BMW models. The 6-Series returned for 2004 with both
coupe and convertible versions.
New for 2007
The 2007 BMW 6-Series receives minor updates with new standard equipment including an auxiliary
input for an iPod or MP3 player and Real Time Traffic Information. A new interior option, Pearl leather
offers a softer, more supple quality to the upholstery. Available in either Black or Cream Beige, this
option also adds special black Nasca leather to the sun blinds and center console. Other new
options include a BMW Interface for iPOD, Logic7 premium stereo as a stand-alone option and a 6-
disc CD changer. The membership in the BMW Assist Safety Plan has been extended from one to
four years.

The 7-Series is BMW’s flagship luxury sedan, offered in regular and extended wheelbase versions,
powered by either a 4.8-liter V8 engine or a 6.0-liter V12 engine. The fourth-generation 7-Series
debuted in 2002 with controversial new styling and new features including iDrive, making it the most
high-tech vehicle ever to be offered by BMW when it was introduced. The 7-Series was first introduced
to the U.S. in 1986 and the fourth-generation 7-Series has proven to also be the most successful 7-
Series ever.
New for 2007
After significant design changes, the 2007 BMW 7-Series receives more standard equipment 20-way
adjustable seats with active head restraints, heated front seats, power-folding rearview mirrors and
an auxiliary audio input that is suitable for an iPod or MP3 player. New stand-alone options include 19-
inch Star Spoke wheels and the initial membership for BMW Assist expands to 4 years. The short-
wheelbase 760i is no longer available.

The Z4 is BMW’s two-seat coupe and roadster that evolved from the Z3. The Z4 Roadster replaced the

The M5 is the high-performance version of the BMW 5-Series sedan which was redesigned for 2004,
and the M5 has been on hiatus since the 2003 model year. The M5 returned to the lineup for 2006
powered by a 500-horsepower V10 engine mated to a seven-speed sequential-manual gearbox
(SMG). Beginning with the founding of BMW, M has always stood for Motoren—German for engines,
and now also stands for BMW's specialized motorsports group responsible for developing high-
performance cars. The BMW M group began with the limited-production mid-engine M1 in 1978 and in
1988 the first M5 was built, powered by a 256-horsepower inline 6-cylinder engine. The M5 returned
for a three-year run in 1991, powered by a 310-horsepower 6-cylinder. A new M5 debuted as a 2000
model and continued through the 2003 model year, powered by a 394-horsepower 4.9-liter V8 engine.
New for 2008
The 2008 BMW M5 receive updates to the interior and exterior including a new front air dam, more
pronounced center air intake, reshaped brake air inlets and new optical lenses for headlights and
taillights. Inside, the M5 features new door panels that include larger door pockets and wood trim
along the tops of the doors. Also new is a 7-speed Sequential Manual Gearbox and the Premium
Sound audio system is now available as a stand-alone option.

The M6 is the high-performance version of the 6-Series that shares the 500-horsepower V10 engine
with the M5 sedan. BMW does not refer to the M6 as the flagship of the M Car lineup, but more of a
complement and a stablemate to the M5 sedan, with both cars delivering the top level of BMW M
power and sophistication. The M6 returns to the BMW lineup after a hiatus of almost 20 years. The M6
features exterior and interior styling that reflects a balance of performance and luxury. The exterior
styling is aggressive and one unique feature is the carbon fiber roof which not only offers weight
savings but also lowers the center of gravity for performance improvements and adds a unique
element of style. For 2007 a convertible version is added to the lineup.
New for 2007
After introducing the M6 coupe for 2006, the 2007 BMW M6 adds a convertible version to its lineup, a
standard tire-pressure monitor and a 4-year subscription of Real Time Traffic Information.

The X3 is BMW’s second SUV which joined the X5 for the 2004 model year. BMW refers to the X3 as a
Sport Activity Vehicle, with an emphasis on performance. The X3 is only slightly smaller than the X5
and is more than 600 pounds lighter. The X3 features the xDrive all-wheel drive and traction system.
For 2007 the X3 receives an update including a new engine, new transmission, more refined interior
and a freshened exterior. A new 260-hp 3.0-liter inline-six engine is complemented with a new 6-
speed STEPTRONIC automatic transmission that can go zero to 60 mpg in 6.9 seconds with the 6-
speed manual or 7.1 seconds with the 6-speed STEPTRONIC, according to BMW. A number of new
options include 18-inch and 19-inch wheels, Xenon Adaptive Headlights that include new cornering
lights and Corona light rings, 16-way adjustable seats and retractable headlight washers (in Cold
Weather Package).
New for 2007
The 2007 BMW X3 receives a makeover inside and out with an all-new engine and transmission. The
new front-end is restyled with a revised kidney grille with titanium silver vertical slats, new headlight
design and relocated DOT indicator lights while the rear is revised with chrome exhaust pipes,
redesigned bumper and new taillight design. The interior is receives more refined materials including
leather-wrapped door panels and armrests, new dashboard grain, standard Dark Ash Wood trim,
Pearl Gloss highlights on climate-control vents and the instrument hood is now integrated into upper
dash. A new 260-hp 3.0-liter inline six cylinder produces 225 lb-ft of torque and has an estimated fuel
economy of 19 mpg in city and 26 mpg on hwy with the automatic or 18/26 mpg with the manual. New
standard equipment includes Star Spoke 17-inch wheels, 3-spoke steering wheel and the audio
system now includes built-in auxiliary input for iPod or MP3 player and preparation for SIRIUS Satellite
Radio.

The X5 represents BMW's first foray into the popular sport-utility-vehicle marketplace. Billed as a
"Sports Activity Vehicle" by its maker, the X5 is designed to handle like a true BMW. The X5 was
unveiled in Detroit at the 1999 North American International Auto Show. By the end of its second
model year, the X5 became BMW's second-best-selling series. For 2007 the X5 is all new with a
revised chassis, more powerful and fuel efficient engines and a more responsive 6-speed automatic
transmission. Redesigned to be longer, wider and taller than its predecessor, the X5 now offers
available 7-passenger seating, increased interior room and a host of new features including
standard 18-inch wheels and tires on the 3.0si, a tire-pressure monitor, new occupant-detection
sensor in front passenger seat and new-type rear differential.
New for 2007
The 2007 BMW X5 receives a makeover with an all-new design, more powerful and efficient engines,
available 7-passenger seating and new option packages. Riding on a new front suspension that
features a double wishbone multi-link design, the X5’s new exterior is highlighted by roof spoiler and
taillights that incorporate “separation edges,” front spoiler’s air dams on the sides and cornering
lights. A new 260-horsepower 6-cylinder engine in the 3.0si produces 225 lb-ft of torque while a 350-
horsepower V8 in the 4.8i produces 350 lb-ft of torque. Both are mated to a new 6-speed automatic
transmission that has been improved for quicker response and shifting. The all-new interior features
include increased shoulder and legroom, 10-way power front seats, new leather grade and color
scheme and improved cargo area. New stand-alone options include Active Steering, automatic
tailgate (4/07 availability), aluminum running boards, and optional 3rd-row seating.
