The Acadia is GMC’s first crossover SUV that combines car-like handling with the capability of a sport-
utility vehicle and offers three rows of seating for up to eight passengers. The Acadia’s profile is sleek
and aerodynamic and its design is showcased by polished aluminum roof rails, large prominent
headlights that use projector beam technology, distinctive LED taillights and a rear spoiler. With
interior space of larger SUVs, the Acadia has a host of safety features that include six standard
airbags and a standard StabiliTrak electronic stability control system with rollover mitigation
technology.
New for 2008
After debuting for the 2007 model year, the 2008 GMC Acadia adds more equipment including a
rearview camera system, Panic Brake Assist, standard XM satellite radio and a second-row seating
console. To improve driving dynamics, an Intelligent AWD system has been added and the traction
control system has been refined. Carbon Flash Metallic, Dark Crimson and Platinum Ice Metallic are
three new exterior colors.

The Envoy debuted as a 1998 4-door, 4-wheel-drive midsize luxury SUV based on the GMC Jimmy.
The Envoy was redesigned for 2002 with a new 4.2-liter aluminum inline six-cylinder and a 7-
passenger Envoy XL was added. For 2004, the Envoy XUV was added with a sliding rear roof and a
Midgate divider for cargo versatility. The XUV discontinued at the end of the 2005 model year.
New for 2008
The 2008 GMC Envoy adds XM Satellite Radio and head curtain side airbags as standard equipment,
20-inch polished aluminum wheels for the two-wheel-drive Denali and three new exterior colors.

The Yukon is GMC’s full-size SUV cousin to the Chevrolet Tahoe. The Yukon was originally called the
Jimmy when it debuted and the name was shared with the compact S-15 Jimmy in 1982. The name
was changed to Yukon in 1992 and a 4-door version was added in 1995. The 2-door version was
eliminated in 1999. An all-new Yukon debuted as a 2007 model in early 2006.
New for 2008
After getting completely redesigned for 2007, the 2008 GMC Yukon adds standard head curtain side-
impact airbags, 40/20/40-split front bench seat in the base SLE and two new exterior colors.

The Yukon XL is GMC’s extended wheelbase full-size SUV cousin to the Chevrolet Suburban. The
history goes back to the 1935 Chevrolet Suburban Carryall, but the real predecessor was introduced
in 1973 as the 4-door GMC Suburban. For 2000 the GMC Suburban became the Yukon XL, leaving the
Suburban name to Chevrolet. The all-new Yukon XL debuts as a 2007 model in early 2006.
New for 2008
After getting completely redesigned for 2007, the 2008 GMC Yukon XL adds a new optional 6.0-liter all-
aluminum V8 engine with variable valve timing that produces 366 horsepower and a six-speed
automatic transmission on the Yukon XL 2500. The Yukon XL 2500 also receives StabiliTrak as
standard and optional 17-inch wheels.

The Yukon Denali is a luxury version of the GMC Yukon full-size SUV, offered in both regular and
extended-wheelbase versions. The Denali was debuted as a 1999 model, the second-generation
was introduced for the 2001 model year and the 2007 model is all new.
New for 2008
After getting completely redesigned for 2007, the 2008 GMC Yukon Denali adds two-wheel-drive
versions (later in model year) of the SUV and two new exterior colors to the lineup, Red Jewel Tintcoat
and Dark Slate Metallic.

The Savana is GMC’s full-size passenger van. The Savana name was added in 1996 when the full-
size GMC van was redesigned. Major upgrades were added for 2003, including available all-wheel
drive.
New for 2008
The 2008 GMC Savana Cargo Van receives a standard tire-pressure-monitoring system, expanded
driver information and a freshened interior. The refined interior consists of a number of new
equipment including a new steering wheel, headlight switch, HVAC dials, radio, window switches,
revised passenger side airbag, new materials for cloth seats, new belt-to-seat design for the four
forward seats and instrument cluster.

The Canyon is GMC’s midsize pickup truck that’s available in Regular Cab, Extended Cab, and Crew
Cab. For the 2004 model year, the Canyon replaced the Sonoma which was one of the first
domestically built compact trucks when it was introduced in 1982 as the S-15. The name was
changed to Sonoma for the 1992 model year.
New for 2008
The 2008 GMC Canyon continues without any significant changes but adds OnStar and front halogen
fog lights as standard. Red Orange Metallic, Carbon Black Metallic and Dark Steel Gray Metallic are
new exterior colors.

The Sierra 1500 is GMC’s half-ton pickup, available in Regular Cab, Extended Cab, and Crew Cab
versions. The Sierra was introduced in 1999 as a replacement for the C/K with all-new styling and
new V8 engines. The GMC brand name goes back 90 years and offers a pickup truck with styling to
differentiate from the Chevrolet pickups.
New for 2007
The 2007 GMC Sierra Classic 1500 adds standard recovery hooks and is in its final model year for
the current-generation lineup.

Redesigned for 2007, the Sierra 1500 is GMC’s half-ton pickup, available in Regular Cab, Extended
Cab, and Crew Cab versions with a choice of three different box sizes: 5 feet 8 inches, 6 feet 6 inches
and 8 feet the Sierra 1500 is completely redesigned with all-new major components, stronger and
stiffer fully boxed frame, restyled exterior and more spacious interior. Highlighted by a unique hood,
grille, bumper front fenders, headlights, taillights, more steeply raked windshield and reduced body
gaps, the Sierra 1500 rides on a wider and lower stance with a new coil-over-shock front suspension.
Extended Cab versions feature rear access doors that open 170 degrees for better access.
New for 2008
After a redesign for 2007, the 2008 GMC Sierra 1500 receives minor updates including standard XM
Satellite Radio on all trim levels, an available power-adjustable driver’s seat on regular cab versions
with a bench seat, and two new exterior colors: Dark Crimson Metallic and Sonoma Red Metallic.
Later in the 2008 model year, the Sierra All Terrain will be offered on Extended Cab and Crew Cab,
based on the Z71 Off Road package and including Rancho Tenneco shocks. Distinctive exterior and
interior changes include a unique chrome grille, 18-inch chrome wheels, instrument panel with
brushed metal look, and ebony cloth seating or two-tone leather on SLT.

The Sierra Hybrid is GMC’s gasoline-electric hybrid half-ton pickup that was added to the Sierra line
for 2005 and is the first full-size truck with hybrid propulsion technology for improved fuel economy.
The Sierra Hybrid is powered by a standard Vortec 5300 5.3-liter V8 engine and a 4-speed Hydra-
Matic automatic transmission coupled with the hybrid propulsion system which replaces the
traditional starter motor and alternator with a compact 14-kw electric induction motor or starter
generator integrated between the engine and transmission. The starter generator provides fast, quiet
starting power and allows the gasoline engine to automatically start and stop under certain
conditions to conserve fuel. The Sierra Hybrid also offers four 120-volt/20-amp electrical auxiliary
power outlets located under the rear seat and in the pickup bed.
New for 2007
The 2007 GMC Sierra Classic Hybrid continues unchanged.
